Indication of Hepatits B Vaceination in Hospital Workers and Their Families

Abstract

|
To estimate how many hospital workers and their families might be indicated immunigation with hepatitis B vaccine, serum samples were analyzed to dotermine prevalence of hepatitis B surface antigen (HBsAg) and prevalence and titer of Sepatitis B surface antibody (anti-HBs). The makers were measured by radioimmunoassay technique.
Among 680 persons tested, HBsAg was Present in 36 (5.3%) and anti-HBs was present in 300(44.1%), including 223 (32.8%) with titer of 10 ratio units or greater. There were 415(61.0%)who need the vaccination. Requirement of the vaccination in hospital workers by occupational title were pharmacist (90.0%), thchnician (62.5%), clark(59.4%), nurse(50.1%) and doctor(42.5%) in order of frequency.
